There has never been a more acute need for safe, dignified and affordable housing. Lingering inflation, a critical lack of affordable apartments and rapidly escalating rents have dramatically increased the number of people experiencing homelessness in our community.
To meet the increasing need, Crossroads is embarking on our most ambitious housing development effort to date. Through a combination of public funding and a private philanthropy campaign, we plan to help reduce homelessness in Rhode Island by creating nearly 300 permanent supportive apartments in three different buildings in Providence: our innovative Health and Housing Apartments, our recently completed Summer Street Apartments and complete renovation of our Travelers Aid Housing.
