During our Women Helping Women event this year, guests were introduced to Claribel, a vibrant mother of 6 who came to Crossroads' Family Center after her landlord sold her family's home and they had nowhere else to turn.

Through hard work and perseverance, and with the help of our Crossroads staff, Claribel and her family were able to find housing and settle into a safe and affordable place to call their own.

Today, Claribel volunteers to help Rhode Islanders experiencing homelessness, holds a job with AmeriCorps, and pursues her GED so she can attain a degree in human services.

Claribel is a tremendous example of strength, resiliency and hope, which we see in so many of the women we serve as they work to overcome their homelessness.
