Celebrating Progress at the Summer Street Apartments

Last week, we celebrated an exciting milestone with a topping-off ceremony at the Summer Street Apartments! TRAC Builders installed the final roof truss, completing the framing for what will soon be 176 permanent, supportive apartments for formerly homeless Rhode Islanders.

Set to open in fall 2025, each apartment will feature a private kitchen, bathroom, and living room. Built to the highest environmental standards, the complex will also be a net-zero building, creating a sustainable and lasting impact on the community.

“Summer Street Apartments is a transformative development that will provide residents currently living in single room occupancy units in our Travelers Aid Housing with proper apartments,” said Crossroads President & CEO Michelle M. Wilcox. “I am optimistic that Rhode Island will be able to accelerate affordable housing development in the years to come, especially with the Housing and Community Opportunity bond up for approval next month.”
