In-Kind Donations

Thank you for thinking of Crossroads Rhode Island for your in-kind donations! Please be aware that due to limited space, we are unable to store donated items for long periods of time. As a result, we only accept items that are new and can be used by our clients right away.

Current In-Kind Donation Needs

Welcome Home Kits

In 2018, we helped over 1,100 individuals and families find and maintain their very own place to call home. Each family and individual that we help move into housing receives a "Welcome Home Kit," a laundry basket filled with all of the essentials that they will need to help turn their new apartment into a home.

Most of the items in the Welcome Home Kits are donated by our generous donors and sponsors. Welcome Home Kits vary based on the needs of the household, but the items that we commonly include are:

  • Dishes and utensils
  • Cleaning supplies (window cleaner, disinfectants, broom)
  • Laundry supplies (detergent, fabric softener)
  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Shower curtains
  • Towels
  • Kids' pajamas (new only)
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Dish soap
  • Sponges
  • Toiletries (full-size shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors, personal care items)
  • Bed linens, pillows, blankets (new)

Contributing even just a few of these items will go a long way to helping someone settle into their new home. If you would like to donate items for a Welcome Home Kit, please see the Donation Information below for drop-off instructions. You can also make a monetary donation online, and designate your gift for Welcome Home Kit supplies.
