Education & Employment Services
The mission of the Education & Employment Services team at Crossroads is to provide high-quality adult education, job training and support services to assist homeless and at-risk individuals and families so that they may secure financial and housing stability.
Education and employment services programs play a vital role in helping those experiencing homelessness become independent. We have developed extensive knowledge and expertise to help individuals who have difficulty accessing mainstream job training and employment programs.
What We Offer
Our adult education is available in a safe, client-centered learning environment and tailored to the level of need of the individual. Crossroads Rhode Island provides the following opportunities for adults:
Employment Resource Center
Stop by our Employment Resource Center to get help with resumes, job searching, online job applications and career exploration. The Center is also a great place to connect with our other education and job training programs.
Hours:
Monday-Thursday mornings: 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons: 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
Certified Nursing Assistant Training
Our CNA Training prepares students to pass Rhode Island's CNA exam. Students receive 7 weeks of classroom and hands-on instruction by a Registered Nurse to prepare for the exam, in addition to CPR certification. Our Employment Specialists help program graduates find and keep their jobs – a critical step in their path towards independence. To sign up for the training program, download and fill out an admissions packet [DOC] today.
Interested in learning more information about the CNA program? Crossroads offers a CNA information session every Thursday at 1 p.m. at 160 Broad Street in Providence. No appointment necessary, just come by!
