Crossroads Rhode Island staff recently attended the National Alliance to End Homelessness' annual conference in Washington, D.C. This inspiring and energizing event is attended by the nation's leading experts and thought leaders on ending homelessness, and provides a unique opportunity for staff members to learn from and engage with their peers from all over the country and share their thoughts and ideas. Crossroads' Vice President of Adult Services John MacDonald had the distinction of speaking as part of a panel, sharing his expertise on service prioritization and delivery with other leaders in the field. Another highlight of the week was Capitol Hill Day, when staff members from homeless services organizations all over the United States were able to meet face-to-face with their representatives in Congress to share their work, challenges, and concerns. After meeting with Crossroads and Rhode Island Housing staff, Rhode Island Congressman Jim Langevin delivered remarks in the U.S. House of Representatives on the important work being done in both organizations, and the need for continued funding to end homelessness!
