Shelter & Housing

Crossroads Rhode Island provides a continuum of housing ranging from emergency shelter through transitional housing to permanent supportive housing to individual men and women, couples and families in Rhode Island.

While shelter is not the long-term answer to homelessness, Crossroads provides this safe and respectful alternative while helping people become independent again.

Emergency Shelter is not the answer to homelessness, but it becomes necessary when housing is neither available nor an option for some. Crossroads goal is to move people out of emergency shelter and into a more positive permanent housing solution. Our Emergency Shelters include:

• Operation First Step Emergency Assessment Shelter
• Crossroads Women’s Shelter
• Crossroads Citizens Bank Family Center
• Couples Shelter: Crossroads provides emergency shelter for couples without children who are homeless and want to stay together while in shelter.

Crossroads provides safe, respectful and effective permanent supportive Housing for many individuals and families in Rhode Island. All formerly homeless, these individuals are able to live in housing while accessing the other supportive services provided by Crossroads Rhode Island. Our Permanent Supportive Housing includes:

• Other supportive housing
